Artist Biography:Thomas Maidment b. 1871
A landscape painter who studied at the Royal College of Art (travelling scholarship). His address is listed as Ilford, Essex in 1905, and in 1910 he appears to have moved to Newlyn in Cornwall, then finally to St. Ives in 1932.
His style is obviously influenced by the late Newlyn School and is characterized by rich and bold colours and the use of black ink outlines and detail.
